Spinal cyst?

I have a cyst on my spine, but I'm away at college so I can't go get it looked at for a few weeks. It not very big, and my phsyical therapist says he thinks it is a cyst. It doesn't hurt, unless someone pokes at it a while and then it gets sore. If it doesn't hurt does that mean it can't be too serious?
I would see my doctor or ask for a referral to an orthopedist, as your physical therapist is not really qualified to make a definitive diagnosis. You may need a MRI to determine what this is, but being young is likely what is called a cauda equina or extradural cyst. These can remain stable for years without untoward effect or problems. See your doctor to determine a treatment program, if one is even needed.
If I were you I would get to a dr sooner rather than later just to make sure it isn't anything too serious. Just because it doesn't hurt doesn't mean you shouldn't get it looked at
