how long does it take from the time the spinal is given until you have feeling back? and how long until u r goin to recovery from the time of surgery

Probably about 30 min to get to recovery. The feeling comes back little by little. You don't notice it coming back. Not to mention that you will be getting morphine and probably won't care. Don't be a hero when it comes to the pain meds. I think it probably took about 4 hrs for all the feeling to come back but I was in and out of sleep.
I had a spinal and a c-section. The spinal is pretty neat actually, aside from the needle, the rush of heat you feel in your legs (the sensation of going numb) feels like someone dumped a really warm bucket of water down your legs.
I think the whole proceedure took but an hour and I was wheeled back into the maternity ward to my room. I believe it was about 4 hrs. before I had feeling back in my legs but, I was so tired, I slept.

I only have this to say make sure you don't have spinal curvature (scoliosis). This will limit how long the spinal last as it did in my case. As soon as I was brought in recovery I felt the horrendus pain.
Time to recovery depends on the medication given. Lidocaine works for about 1 hour. Bupivicaine can last a good bit longer, sometimes 6-8 hours. Total recovery time from your surgery will be around 3-6 weeks.
