Spinal fluid question?

What are the possible ways to lose your spinal fluids?

And what is the result after that?

If you have a sleeping disorder, many nights you just don't sleep, would that make you lose your spinal fluids?

Answers:
I can't think of any way you can just "lose" spinal fluid (CSF). Obviously a head injury or some sort of violent head injury could do this as well.

Losing spinal fluid very rapidly could cause the ventricles in your head to shrink, thus you would have a very bad headache.

I don't think a sleeping disorder would cause you to lose CSF, but I could be mistaken.

I suggest your see a neurologist, they would be better able to answer your questions.
Lack of sleep doesn't affect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Where did you get that idea? A head injury, a penetrating head wound, a spinal injury, a penetrating spinal injury...these are ways CSF can be lost. Lumbar puncture is used to remove a small amount for analysis. CSF surrounds, protects and cushions the brain. It also facilitates cerebral blood flow. So without CSF the brain would certainly die.
