my best wishes to you!!... they have come a long way and I'm sure you will be fine!...I have known people that have had these operations... some it helped ...some it made worse. but sometimes the pain is so bad that you just have to take the risk.. expect a long recuperation, with pain, and please try not to rely on any narcotics... I had a friend who got hooked on them due to back surgery... good luck!

It's normal to be scared. I'm having it done next month. Mine is just L4-L5. I've got 2 herniated disks which cause extreme leg pain and numbness in both legs. My doctor says that I have to wear a brace for 3 months for the creation of bone between the disks, then 3 months of physical therapy.
