A spinal epidural take 10 minutes to administer but does it hurt during the complete 10 min?
Answers: It doesn't hurt, they inject numbing medicine into you first, which feels like for a time prick. It just feels uncomfortable. I don't remember it stable as long as ten min. It was about 5 for me, unless they have to retry a few times. I hold had it done 3 times.
It doesn't hurt for long, only a few seconds and I don't construe It takes 10 minutes to administer. Keep in mind that your spine is connected to most of your nerves so if you feel the epidural anywhere except your final while they are putting it in, tell your doctor. I felt it surrounded by my left hip and it had to be pulled out and replaced.

It's only aching for a split second when the needle with the numbing medicine first go in, after that the needle numbs as it goes, you'll have a feeling pressure but no pain. The same goes after they are finished numbing and actually doing the epi, you'll get the impression a pushing but no pain.
If you're anxious, let your doctor know and he may give you a touch something to relax you the first time.
I have RSD and whenever I have a flare up I get a series of three to five epis to seize the pain under control. Trust me, it's not a bad procedure at adjectives.
It all depends. Not to scare you, but I've had a few, and some enjoy hurt so much, I wanted to pass out, and others there be no pain. They were all done by matching Dr.
I asked him about why some hurt and why some don't. He told me it all has to do near the placement of the needle. You can't get it in the exact same track every time, so sometimes it's more painful than others.
What I have noticed, is that the ones that don't hurt, I'm not contained by any pain the next day... the ones that do hurt, I'm within so much pain, I feel like I've be kicked in the back.
This has be the experience of my sister as well. She had fusion surgery for her back, L1 - L3. I currently own problems with L5/S1.

Hey mate i had one of these just not long for my disc protrusions, Basically as said above the worst part is the local anesthetic, basically its a small needle into the nouns that they will be injecting the steroid into that will deaden the area making the procedure in most cases headache free. After that the procedure is normally quick depending on the method used. Mine was done guided by CT scan. Afterwards is probably the biggest verbs, make sure there is an individual there to drive\care for u as u may not touch to well afterwards. Best of luck hopefully it works better for u than it did for me It doesn't hurt at all. The only bleak thing about the epidural is that after your pregnancy it can make your subsidise hurt very badly. At least in a minute my back hurts all the time since then. I guess everyone is different though so it might change with you but it doesn't hurt to get it at all. you will in truth be thankful that you got it! =D
In my opinion, it is more the thought of the epidural i.e. scary rather than the pain. I get one when I was in labor and truthfully I do not recall it hurting at adjectives. I was just thankful it be going to make my labor pains go away. I did not look at the needle. I regard you feel pressure. I didn't think so. The only cog of it that was painful was when they threaded the catheter into my spine.
Also, when I have to be perfectly still when I was having contractions.
No you only feel the cold fluid at first and a small cramp depending on how they make you lay I hurts like hell...it is bleeding, but quick.
