they gonna fix my 5th lumbar due to bacterial infection,,
how long will it take to recover?
can i still lift stocky objects? cuz my job involves heavy lifting?
I'm a combat medic in the military. Your 5th lumbar or is it your S-1 that's the space explicitly right there? It really depends if the bone is degenerating or if you have fractured it. In most cases they do a posterior and anterior fusion of the spine which is something like a 6hr long surgery. Then your going to have about 6 to 8 weeks of rest and then some physical psychotherapy. Reason for the long rest is do to the fact that if they do a anterior fusion they cute through your stomach muscles. after about 6months it will probably be light lifting until you build pay for up to normal.
