My father is 53yrs old living in a small country town and has suffered horrific back pain for the last 20yrs. He "broke" his subsidise falling down stairs and then had a lumbar fusion operation. Which apparently was botched. He have had another operation since (6yrs later) but the scarring is very bad and his doctor claims that much of it is irreversable. He is on a ridiculous amount of medication including anti-depressants (a side effect of his constant pain). His doctor says there is nothing they can do, but I know this doctor to be totally old and tired of life so I suspect he finds it easier to dope him up rather than find a better solution. Does anyone know a specialist within Melbourne we can go to for a second opinion?
