Back Problems, Spinal Stenosis, Slipped Disk?
I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis about three years ago. At the time it wasn't impossible enough to do anything with. However, the pain get progressively worse the past four or five months, so I went back to carry rechecked. The MRI showed that it was now moderate to severe along with a slipped disk. I enjoy constant pain in my lower back along near with severe pain down the backs of both legs, hip spasm and tingling and numbness in both feet along with tingling up both legs at lowest possible to the knees. I saw a neurosurgeon who couldn't tell me a lot because the MRI place had given me the wrong films. I saw a spine surgeon near the right films and he said that the slipped disk is compressing the nerves constantly. I also have narrowing in the same disks along beside osteoarthritis in my spine. I have done all the other option, so the only thing now not here to do is surgery. I will have to have a laminectomy along with fusion. I'm disturbed about the surgery, but more nervous about not have it and having things get worse. Any comments? Has anyone had the surgery and how be it for you? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Slipped Disc is a term no longer used and you do not state which Disc is causing the problem. Osteoarthritis is regular wear and tear, everyone over the age of 30 has signs of OA. As for Surgery, hate to read out this but the Patient does not decided on surgery, only the Surgeon decides if you necessitate surgery. Good Luck
I have not had the surgery, however, I work for a doctor who does this surgery often. Our patients ultimately are very happy with the amount of backache relief they gain from having the fusion and laminectomy. Many times it can be done on an "outpatient" basis near a short overnight hospital stay. I think you'll probably be very happy near your results.
