My brother in law was contained by an accident, and his Spinal cord may be broken..can they ever grow back or be fixed in surgery..or is near no hope of that..links or info would be great, thanks!

Answers:    even in serious spinal cord injuries reduction of the broken vertebrae and prolapsed discs can revolutionize i condition of the patient so an early diagnosis of walking problem can not be reached as it may be simple spinal cord concussion surrounded by such cases improvement may occur but need time and physiotherapy
Depending upon the extent of the injury . . .

1) spinal bones may be repaired and bolstered/fused.
2) discs may be somewhat removed or replaced.
3) crushed and severed cords tend to fare very poorly.

You need to help him catch to a place where you can interact well with the medical squad. Then you can understand what is being done, you'll be better able to cheer your BOL to help himself, and you will better understand what you can do for support.
