Can a spinal cord Syrinx start to bring neuropathic problems despite not varying surrounded by size?

I am a 41 year old male and started to suffer from mild neuropathy a couple of years ago and a MRI scan showed a spinal Syrinx in my mid-spine nouns, though was not necessarily be related to the onset of this problem, as it may have be present all my life and did not result from a trauma. The symptoms have just this minute worsened however – particularly in my lower legs but also in my arms to the extent that it is affecting my sleep and mobility, notwithstanding the verbs this causes.
I had a further MRI scan a few months ago which indicated that the syrinx had not changed surrounded by size. I was, and am, concerned that my moderately heavy alcohol intake over the years may be responsible, though my doctor’s think it unlikely but own advised me to half my intake, which I have surrounded by recent months. I do not smoke.
My question is then can this type of Syrinx suddenly start to cause such neuropathic problems contained by middle age even if they don’t get any bigger. I'm getting quite worried immediately.

Answers:    A Syrinx can cause all kinds of problems. Have they done a MRI of the brain all the same? That should be done to make sure you do not have Arnold Chiari Malformation which sometimes shows up in inhabitants with syrinx.
If it is pressing on the spinal cord it could cause neuro problems anywhere below the mid back. also to enjoy any operration on the thoracic area can be risky because there is not much room between the spine and spinal cord.I have problems myself next to mid back,I was due to have a operation but it be cancelled the last minute due to the risk.I am still in pain but hope it will not procure much worse.
