Can a spinal fusion be reversed?

I've read articles about new techniques for scoliosis instead of spinal fusions. Is at hand any way to reverse a spinal fusion, or are you absolutely stuck with it forever? A few websites said that it wasn't reversible, but I'm not sure how up-to-date they are.

Answers:    I would notably doubt it. Spinal fusions involve the (depending on the procedure you had) various rods, hooks, screws and wires that are embedded into the bony vertebra and become "one"; sometimes bone chips are added that literally fuse together. Getting adjectives that hardware in there is a very lawless surgery and taking it out would be incredibly violent and traumatizing.
