Cesarean beside spinal block problems..?
My best friend recently had a spinal block with her cesarean portion on 3/13/08. She is still experiencing numbness in her tailbone area at the base of her spine and is also have some pain in her lower back. She mentioned this to her doctor and he seem concerned and told her if it hadn't gone away in a few weeks he would send her for an MRI. Has anyone else experienced this after a spinal block? We have scoured the internet trying to find something on this but haven't have any luck. She just basically wants to know if this is a adjectives problem or if there is something wrong. Any help or past experiences would be appreciated!
Answers: my sister have a spinal block and cesarean and mentioned to me that her butt was numb/tingling probably about a month and a half following...she was fine, it just took a while to wear off for her.
I have a spinal block with my c-section, and it was almost 3 years ago and I still have problems beside my lower back...if I stand too long it hurts, if I sit on a hard surface it hurts, if I sleep on my back it hurts...I also own a friend that had a c-section last August and she has profoundly of pain when she bends over, like to pick up her son off of the floor...I guess it is pretty adjectives to have some problems associated with the spinal block, but I have never hear of anyone still being numb for more than a couple of hours afterward...sounds to me like there could be some bravery damage or something...I really hope that is not the case...hopefully it is nil major and she recovers soon...good luck!
