Due to travel to Neurosurgeon contained by February for spinal injection,steroids and cortisone.?
Its for a herniated disc.
Can I take these drugs oraly instead of the injection.
Answers: the injections are designed to get right to the problem area in need affecting surrounding tissue, they are not as bad as people its just the hypothesis of spine and needle in the same sentance that puts ethnic group off, it conjours all sorts of images.
the injections will probably backing you imensly i know they help most people more than they think. if you are worried in the region of it ask to be shown what will happen before you have it done. and remember if you really cant frontage it refuse treatment (although its going to cause you pain) and ask if there is anything else as you are nozzle shy.
Honestly, the injections aren't that bad. I had a serious auto accident contained by 2001, had two back surgeries and they are talking something like a third to do a spinal fusion or disc replacement - had epidural injections, nerve blocks as well as the procedure where on earth they burned the nerve to kill it. You might feel some torment the first day or so, but after that you should feel some relief. You can own this done under local anesthesia or what they call twilight sleep - I found that the twilight sleep is the best - you drift off and when you come support to, it is all over with. Since I have be going through this I have found so many oral pain medication I am allergic to, I say do the injections - they are the bomb. God Bless. a friend of mine got these injections and it did help her immensely the injections arrive at the places where the tablet form do not possible that's way they want you to travel to the spinal unit to alleviate your pain and they will help ?and as you know the Neurosurgeons are fantastic and do provide a great service give somebody a lift care.
I have an injection called Sacroiliac iliac backbone block in my back, it is a steroid injection and totally changed my life. You are put underneath heavy sedation and will not even know you have had it done. It can be prickly for a couple of days at the site of the injection, but within a few weeks you will notice a difference. I had my first one 6 years ago and hold had two since then. My last one just about 18 months ago and been relatively pain free since then.
I have taken various pain killers oraly for years until this injection. My warning would be to have it done, it may not work as well as it did for me but give it a budge!. Good luck. I have no knowledge about it. Sorry
