Giving birth after spinal surgery?

Is it possible to give birth natuarly if you have had spinal surgery. I'm basically thinking of a spinal fusion where a twisted spine is corrected with up to three metal rods. Would you be able to 'push' or would you inevitability to have a c section?

I spoke with someone end night who is about to do exactly this. You need to be examined as respectively case is different. It may mean you cant have an epidural if it be needed as this is injected into the spine. Only a doctor can tell you. Hope this helps!

Modern spinal fusions generally enjoy good outcomes with high degree of correction and low rates of failure and infection. Patients with fused spines and permanent implant tend to have normal lives with unrestricted undertakings when they are younger, it remains to be seen whether those that have been treated near the newer surgical techniques will develop problems as they age. They are able to participate surrounded by recreational athletics, have natural childbirth and are generally self-satisfied with their treatment. The most notable limitation of spinal fusions is that patients who own undergone surgery for scoliosis are ineligible for military service in the United States

That sounds like it wouldn't be any fun...personally, I'd adopt if it come down to all that...and I were female as you would expect. My sister in law had a 4-wheeler twist of fate years ago- long story short, she had one leg amputated below the knee and had some sort of surgery on her backbone. I'm not sure how similar it was to what you are describing, but when she had my nephew, she had no choice but to hold him naturally. Her doctors said an epidural was not an option. I guess if she have had to have a c-section, they would have put her to sleep. Hope this help.
