Has anyone ever have a spinal slap? I am extraordinarily curious and merely looked-for to know the procedure and how it feel?
What was your experience? Can you describe the whole process that you went through?
Thank you.
Answers: lumbar puncture is a procedure within which they take spinal fluid from your back .this procedure takes smaller number than 10 minutes , dont worry because before it starts you are partially aneasthesized for short duration surrounded by which you are awake but pain is felt less and higher than that a local anesthetic is also given which make sure you are hurt less , i have done my self ...i know it looks alarming to take fluid from some one back but believe me its not that scary .but a immensely useful tool for diagnosis
during procedure your chin should touch your chest and your kness your abdomen
the needle is inserted surrounded by lumbar 3 and lumbar 4 vertebra . many times a clear fluid comes but some times the dr hits a vessel and its traumatic then its done again but dont worry ...its adjectives for ur diagnosis
if you have any questions regarding its result expediency please ask
good luck
I have had two and it really does situation on the experience of the doctor. The first time it took several stabs with a very long needle. The second time it go very quick but I guess they hit a nerve finish and my legs went spastic. The pain is bearable but goes away like lightning. The procedure itself shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. I cannot remember if they gave pain medication or not. Honestly… It sucks. It hurts drastically bad, and then when they do whatever they are doing, it feel like your legs are blown off. I don’t know if they just hit a self-assurance on me or what, but it was the worse pain I have ever experienced. It really feel like my legs were blown off.
They generate you lay on your stomach and stick a really long needle into your back. My friend had one and said it be very painful even when they numbed the area :( i have one almost 10 yrs ago and honestly it was pretty painless. they numb the area first, and then it be just more of an uncomfortable pressure than anything else. good luck.
If you know what have a baby feels like its 10 times worse, they stick a hypodermic about10 inches long in your back
