Has anyone ever have the Posterior Spinal Fusion Surgery?

I recently had the posterior spinal fusion surgery for scoliosison Jan. 30th, 2008. Pre-Op I had a 52 scope curvature. I have been having some really unpromising pains in my hips and my back of course. It almost seem to be getting worse everyday. My parents want me to try to go back to school on Wed. Feb. 20th, 2008, but I don't have a sneaking suspicion that I'm ready. I afraid because our school has rock solid chairs that are really discomfited. And I'm afraid that since our school has about 1800 students that somebody is bound to bump into my pay for. If that happened, I would break down and cry. My back is still REALLY sensitive, I get really protective when someone trys to touch it. Anyone that have had this surgery, please tell me about your experience and conceivably offer me some advice =)

Answers:    I did own a spinal fusion of the L5-S1 disks, but not for the same reason as you. I wasn't even allowed to sit any longer than 1 hour a day even after 6 weeks post-surgery! If you're wearing a fund brace, which I assume you are after a fusion, you shouldn't be in school. I was stale work for 3 months, then only on light duty etc after that.

I would double check near your doctor on all of this!
