Has anyone have a complete hysterectomy using spinal anesthesia and an oral drug?


Answers:    I did, but without the sedative. Just the spinal, which is the BEST ANESTHETIC EVER!

It's definitely possible - agree to your anesthesiologist. You'd get an IV sedative, nothing oral (too unpredictable).

The individual thing that would eliminate the possibility of a spinal is if your gynecologist wanted to do a laparoscopic procedure. Spinals don't work for those.

Go for it! You'll be aware of so much better afterward!
i just had this operation & i would not now...or ever - enjoy an injection in my spine if i could avoid it.i would rather be totally out of it until the op is over.
