Has anyone have a spinal stroke? From 1-10?
10 being the worse, how bad did it suck/hurt?
Yes they numb the area, but to do that they get to put a needle in the spine.
How horrible is that pain?
I'll be getting one soon...
Answers: The first one I have was when I was 18 months old because of Menigitis. So i don't remember that one.
But I do remember the one from 12 years ago.
The worst quantity is the local anaesthetic injection to numb the area.
That pain was just about a 3 for me. It 'pinched' more than anything else.
After that it really didn't hurt.
Lay on your back after the procedure, the staff will tell you this.
You may experience some bruising and/or tenderness at the site.
And here is a risk of a headache that feels as if you have a hat on too tight.
My guidance is to have it done by/with a radiologist - xray guided. (If they can) I've had a tap, and 3 epidurals (separate times) The hit and one epi was by an anesthesiologist - and it hurt like hell - 8. They went by perceive and sound. The xray guided epi's were easy, 3 or 4.
If they tolerate you, have earbuds in, and listen to music. The sounds it makes internally are disconcerting.
I would rate it as a 4, it is not that desperate.
A little uncomftorble thats all. It hurts but not to the point of crying. Just make sure after you stay flat on your back until they tll you to sit up or you will own the worse headache you've ever had.
