Has anyone have any side effects or problems due to the ANS spinal cord stimulator? Please reply a.s.a.p?
I HAD A L4-5,S-1 FUSION A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. I HAD A ANS STIMULATOR IMPLANTED IN JULY OF 2007. I AM SUFFERING WITH CHRONIC FATIGUE, SWEATS, HEADACHES AND FEEL LIKE CRAP ALL OF THE TIME AND ALL IS SINCE I HAD THIS IMPLANTED IN MY BACK. WHEN I MOVE AROUND IT WILL CHANGE SENSATIONS AND SOMETIMES CUT ON AND OFF ON ME. THE ROUND PIECE THAT WAS PUT UNDER MY SKIN WAS LOCATED ABOUT 2 -3 INCHES BESIDE MY LOWER SPINE AND ABOVE MY LEFT BUTT CHEEK. IT HAS TRAVELED NOW AND IS ABOUT 1/2 INCH TO 1 INCH NEXT TO MY SPINE ABOVE MY LEFT BUTT CHEEK. I AM VERY CONCERNED AND I HAVE A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT TOMMOROW. IF ANYONE HAS HAD ANY OR ALL OF THESE ISSUES OR IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE WRITE ME BACK. PLEASE RESPOND ASAP AND THANKS

Answers: These aren't common problems usually related to a stimulator. I have had my SCS for 2 years, and the problems related to my stimulator enjoy been from lead migration, scar tissue, and when my neurosurgeon placed my mobile deeper in my later revision surgeries (because I'd lost weight) and now I hold irritation at the site of the battery that seems to cause comparatively a bit of pain. My SCS did help with the distress (that I had it implanted for), but because of my scar tissue, and lead migration I've have 3 revision surgeries. I have found that alternating ice and heat along near taking some ibuprofen can help the pain with the freestyle pack, but otherwise I just have to deal near the pain from the battery pack. I broke t9, t10, t11, t12, I did not have a stimulater put contained by, but I get the sweats, and other things you mentioned. The reason for my problems is the pain meds. If your taking throbbing meds, you could be having withdrawl from them like I get. I surface your pain, just have to business with it, good luck S.
