Funny that you ask the question at this time. I purely had a minor operation last Wednesday(May 28) and I had a spinal. When the hypodermic was inserted in my middle back,it be really nothing,hardly felt it. It be weird when I woke up. I had thought the the surgeon had cut my legs past its sell-by date.No feeling from belly button down. It was about three hours following when i could feel anything. How the nurse checked is to slap my butt as that the last to get full intuition back. Why do you ask?
Yeah my brother had a spinal tap done. I believe that they try to numb it up a little at first. He said he felt a lot of pressure and afterwards he feel fine. But he ended up getting a really bad headache from it. He couldn't even sit up. But he didn't listen to the doctor when the doctor said that you are suppose to lay down for an hour after having one. If you do completion up getting the headache the doctors say you should drink a lot of coke. i have have one. they do hurt, but the annoying part is that it is a strong pressure pain. it feels close to someone is just pushing a hammer into your back for in the order of 5 minutes. Just pray that you dont get a spinal tap headache. that happens when some fluid leak into your body, and it will be the worst migraine x10. Enjoy!!
I had one years ago and I had my husband hold my hand because I be afraid I would jerk and not know it so he held me all the way through so if your ever afraid of a experiment tell them you refuse to do it unless you have someone you know near you its alot easier. I have actually had five of them. I be 7 when I had my first. I don't remember them hurting that much, but the head ache after be the pits.
