How long after a spinal cord injury have anyone here experienced any returns?
Answers: There is always hope!
Take good care of yourself - no sugar protein supplements, BComplex vitamins, EFA/DHA (Omega Fat) supplements are adjectives things I recommend and have found helpful.
Also Vitamins E & D3 (dry form from VitaLady.com is good, cheap), Vitamin C, guided descriptions seeing yourself improving, seeing some kind of healing adjectives (like repair by Bob the Builder or something else that you can relate to); exercising what you can, massage, etc. Treat depression, and concentrate on building the best life you can.
Challenge yourself, and your abilities everyday! DO what is difficult for you.
All of these things will lend a hand to some degree. The nutrition helps healing. The mental form is vital to continuing your program.
Find support - try YahooGroups, newsgroups, etc. IRL support.
Best of luck, and wishes for your continued strength and purpose. It's difficult, but you gotta do what you can. Build a life that works for you.
BTW - where be you injured? Location on spine, I mean.
:o)
Depends on how serious the spinal cord injury is. With a total rupture I wouldn't expect much if anything to return. However, the body is pretty amazing, and sometimes has some surprises in store, plus Doctors do sometimes construct mistakes in diagnosis. Good luck.
