I be only just told by a Spinal/neuro doctor that I enjoy a stress fracture of the L-4?

He said he isn't worried about that, or the Degenerative herniated disk, He is worried about my arm and leg becoming numb and tingleing. He said it is in my Cervical Spine. What is up? They want to loaf on a MRI .. I am nervous and still in ALOT of pain. Has anyone be through this? Any suggestions or tips about how to relieve the pain would be great, He wouldn't prescribe any narcotics until he knows what is up near my reflexs and other neuro tests. I am miserable and in pain. Any help out would be appreciated!!

Answers:    try a hot water bottle? if the pain becomes long occupancy, you might ask for amitrip along with your painkillers, it is a mild antidepressant that seems to work really well beside nerve pain sufferers
Be patient. Not sure what is going on here. I 'assume' you saw your Doc near symptoms, I guess arm and leg becoming numb and tingling. Now I am not sure what happened next? X-ray will show bones, so yes a stress fracture would be located but not herniated disc, that can only be found on a MRI, but you state you own not had a MRI yet? Unless your Neuro has MRI hallucination, love to know how he knew about a herniated disc? Degenerative Discs can be diagnosed on a x-ray, part of the aging process, but not a herniated disc, so i.e. confusing. Meanwhile he is now looking at your neck, hence the MRI to see the bones, discs, nerves. Likewise I am not sure why you want pain killer for numbness or tingling? Like numb means no pain. Best of Luck
