I fell and bruised my spinal cord between my shoulders...?
What can I do to ease this pain? I've tried OTC pain medication, but it doesn't touch the pain that radiates to the back of my neck/head, my right shoulder and my right arm. It hurts to sit subsidise or lay down on my right side or back. Please give me some advice. Plus, I can't hold an MRI because of my VNS inplant.
Answers: I had amazing results with Ice and arnica, when I strained muscles lifting a toilet. I could not get out of bed and feel pretty disabled. I also went to a massage therapist. You may own jammed things, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to see a chiropractor or massage consultant. A multi pronged approach will get you back in shape sooner than a short time ago waiting for the pain too subside. Ice helps with inflammation. immensely. The arnica I took be called Trameel. It came in pill form as economically as topicals. I took the pills. Ginger is another anti inflammatory. I once thought I had broken my hand and started taking 6 capsules of ginger day after day. After two days my hand felt fine. I stopped taking ginger to see if the pain come back and it did. So I am a huge believer in ginger
The spinal cord is pretty well inside of the spine and protected. You may own bruised the surrounding muscles. Try putting ice one it and massaging the area but it will basically take time to heal. Give me a break! If you BRUISED your spinal cord, you would be hospitalized. A little over dramatic aren't we?
