I have a spinal fusion?

and a discectomy of the L4 and L5 4 years ago. I am going on holiday soon to fiji and was wondering if anyone knew if the fusion will be detected through the airport customs and if so should I get something to prove the fusion be done?
i had L4 spinal fusion 12 years ago and they left the 6 screws within my spine. they told me that the metal used is a titanium alloy, and it would not set off metal detectors.

in the years since the surgery, i've been on more or less 50 flights and never had a problem! techniques and procedures have enhanced dramatically in that time, too, which also makes me think that you own even less to worry about :)

delight in your holiday!!
Usually, if you have a foreign metal in your body that will make a airport detector budge off your doctor will give you a medical card stating that you have this foreign event in your body. If your fusion was done with bone, zilch will happen at the airport. If it was done with a metal, name the surgeon and ask for the medical card. It will only take them a few second to send you one. Enjoy your trip!
