I own a herniated disc surrounded by put a bet on.Has anyone done spinal decompression?
What is the best treatment other than surgery?
Answers: I had IDD therapy (one of the lots decompression treatments out there), and it was the GREATEST THING I have EVER DONE!! I had done everything else...epidurals, physical psychiatric help, acupuncture, chiropractors, steroid injections...and was scheduled for surgery at the ripe ol' age of 29. Someone told me about IDD Therapy, and even though it sounded too honest to be true, I was desperate not to be cut on.
I tried it...and it worked when nothing else did. I was competent to pick up my daughter for the first time since she was first born, do housework, and get through my day in need ANY pain. The best part is, the therapy in fact FIXES the herniated disc! I have seen my own "before and after" MRI films. I'm an x-ray tech by profession, and I can report if a film has been re-touched. These weren't. It make the bad discs good, and the good discs even better!!
I really can't articulate enough good things about it. Not adjectives therapies are covered by insurance, but it was WELL worth it for me. I'd have compensated a million bucks, to be perfectly honest.
My advice is, give it a try. Most family see dramatic results in as few as two visits. I felt a difference after my first session!! Also, you can resume work or any other diversion once the therapy is done...and it only takes around 30 minutes from start to finish...unlike an epidural, where you can't drive and have to lay around all hours of daylight.

I have bad discs as very well and asked about spinal decompression on here and the replies I got said that after they had it done the discs have more damage done to them and that it then made surgery impossible to do,and now their agony is worse.
Cortisone shots are what my Orthopedic Specialist is now looking at for me.

it all depends on the degree of FUNCTIONAL DISABILITY u hold following the disc hernia
ideally it has to be DECOMPRESSED and these days it is done by neurosurgeon who are doing MICROLUMBAR DISCECTOMY (MLD)
recovery is faster and smaller quantity hospital stay,results are good

you could ask about epidural cortisone injections..they do 3 if needed just about 1 wk apart.make sure your dr is a specialist in this field and does profoundly of them and he does them under fluoroscopy(xray)..not just by feel.
