Seriously though, aren't these questions better answered by the surgeon who will be performing the operation? Or probably your GP can give you an idea. Better than asking people approaching us who post answers like the one above :) No chance
They have to cut right down your spinal colum consequently detach it from your brain.

it really depends on which surgery you are having,
as i have the same problem, but also my disc have no fluid in it,
so on Monday i am in hospital and they are going to inject my spine with a mixture of fluid and slow realising niggle killers.
Have you been told what the name of the operation is call?
Mine is on my letter from the hospital.
My husband has the same problem, but he is waiting to hold some nerves cauterised to stop his problems.
