If I jump to the doctors because I deduce I hold meningitis, will I have need of a spinal touch?

I don't have health insurance so I can't afford a spinal tap (I saw on the internet that it be $300-500) but I think I have meningitis. Even if it isn't, I want to be sure just surrounded by case.

Is there any other way for checking if I own meningitis besides a spinal tap?

And what are you supposed to do if you can't afford to treat meningitis?

Answers:    Afraid not buddy the only way to put in the picture is through a lumbar puncture they're expensive and hurt like sh!t wouldn't recommend em on my worst enemies
They have to treat you regardless if you can earnings. A lot of hospitals have a form you can fill out for financial assistance. The financial aid worker can also refer you to other public programs to get your meds if you inevitability any. I know it can be uncomfortable to ask for help from these types of agencies, but if you are sick, you can't help it. What you enunciate you might have is very serious and it needs to be checked out. muse you should see a doctor i is up to you if you concent to treatment or not
It's actually called an LP (lumbar puncture). If you go to the ER and present next to sighns and symptoms of menengitis it doesn't matter if you have insurance they have to treat you. And by the channel it can kill you and normally doesn't resolve on it's own- wherever you read explicitly crap. Go get the LP. Meningitis, though rare, can be fatal if it isn't treated. If you believe you own menengitis (symptoms: fever, vomiting, confusion, sensitive/painful/stiff neck, and seizures) you should contact your doctor immediately. The more serious symptoms of meningitis, seizure and confusion, are damaging enough to warrant a trip to the emergency room, if you haven't experienced them and are basing your suspicion sour of fever, vomiting, ect. chances are you have one of the other numerous mild illnesses associated beside these symptoms. The best advice I can give you is to relax, not jump to conclusions (we tend to self-diagnose our "symptoms" due to information available on the internet), and programme a simple check up with your doctor. The doctor will advise you on wether your symptoms are similar enough to meningitis to require carrying out tests. A lumbar puncture is required to diagnose meningitis. If your suspicion is confirmed, the doctor will do numerous other tests to determine wether the meningitis is bacterial or viral.

Good luck, & I hope all goes all right.
Absolutely...if s(he) thinks you also have it.
