I'm 17 and have a disk replacement and spinal fusion at L5/S1 on 10/3, I've lost deeply of flexibility at hand?
I have no idea how I ended up next to a ruptured disk, my back just started hurting one day and eventually head to sciatica. My mom over looked it as being anything serious. I went to a chiropractor, 2 rounds of physical therapy and one doctor misdiagnosed as singular herniated and I ended up with a steroidal epidural injection.
Anyhow, a week later I'm up and not have much pain, just most of the muscles in my body gain VERY tired after being out and about. I wasagainst Valium and Percocet, but gave those up about 8 days after surgery to be able to drive.
All I've see on here is stuff about toes moving, haven't had to deal near that . Yet?
I recommend Bikram Yoga, it is hot yoga, so the heat
reduces strain on muscles while you strech. it increases flexibility,
Research it on line, and find a studio in the vicinity you, I have personnally witnessed many miraculous recoveries, one woman at my studio had back surgery, her dr said he was absolutly amazed at her seizure, she has full mobility, when he expected much less from a lady her age.
it is definitly worth checking out. Strongly recommend. and hey, it is confrontational, but it gets to fit and flexible, people see improvement after purely a few sessions.
Wow, what a major surgery at such a young age...and able to be past its sell-by date the valium and percoet already! Good for you!
It's still early. Most patients with a fusion are restricted from working on flexibility for about 3 months to hand over the fusion a chance to settle. Don't worry about it very soon...wait for the surgeon to give you clearence.
