Is spinal meningitis contagious?

my best friend was having muscle spasms and it hurt her
really bad. she be crying. she went to the doctor and the doc said that if the pain continues it will become spinal meningitis. is that contagious? she is t aking medicine in a minute (it happened 2 days ago) and the doctor said that it was a virus in her d¨Ścolletage muscle.

Answers:    Yes, some forms of bacterial meningitis are contagious. The bacteria are spread through the exchange of respiratory and throat secretions (i.e., coughing, kissing). Fortunately, none of the bacteria that lead to meningitis are as contagious as things like the common cold or the flu, and they are not spread by casual contact or by simply breathing the atmosphere where a person with meningitis have been.
