L5-S1 spinal disk cross-question?
I had a Mri on my back last month. I am a 36 yr older male, healthy. Had an Acl repair in 93 that cause knee pains. dr 1st order'd Mri's on both. My lower back Mri showed degenerative disc disease at L1-L2 and L5-S1 with foraminal stenosis at L5-S1 disc space and minimal neural impingment. Can this be the make happen of pain in my right buttok and right thigh? I know my right leg and hip hurt, just trying to take in. Dr. didnt really explain, have a follow up saturday.

A foramen is an opening surrounded by a vertebra for a spinal nerve to pass through. Foraminal stenosis means narrowing of the gap. There is minimal neural impingement, meaning it is interfering with the nerve minimally if at adjectives. This could still cause inflammation in the nerve, which could explain the anguish in your buttock and thigh.
