Lumbar spinal fusion?
Looking to get some feed back on how the surgery go , the recovery time, the pros and cons etc.
I am scheduled for surgery 8-13-08 and I would appreciate any advise.
Answers: You enjoy all ready made the decision for the process so why are you very soon second guessing this? You should have looked up the statistics before hand. They are something on the lay down of a fifty percent success rate. The long term studies show that people that wait out one year got the same if not better results than society who underwent a procedure. Did you try physical therapy? There are times when surgery is a must and that is where on earth there is a loss of muscle strength, control of bowel and bladder. Most surgeons don't like to do back surgery unless at hand is a particular reason such as that above or intractable pain, uncontrolled twinge that even meds don't help. Recovery time is going to be based upon what the surgeon finds and what type of procedure was done. There are minimally invasive procedures where on earth you are up that day and walking around. The cons will be discussed or should have been discussed next to the signing of an informed consent form.
