My 87 Year prehistoric Mother have severe twinge from Spinal Stenosis, ( narrowing of the spinal canal)
My mother is 87. We have done everything on the planet to try and help her with her throbbing. The unfortunate part is she is in justifiably good health other that her back/spinal pain. We not long had an injection in her back, which help her for 3-4 months a bit. However, recently she had a severe fall and be hospitalized for a week. She is now at home and using her walker and she is not rebounding thoroughly well at all. In fact, she have a reaction to Codeine in the hospital and cannot take Codeine or Morphine any due to her allergies. What is she to do? We've had her into the Dr. a dozen times, the last time she was put on muscle relaxants but these are not much accurate either, help! Has anyone heard of a Lidocaine Patch. Thanks folks for your valued input.
My wife have severe arthritus pain. She uses one to two Lidocaine patches a day. They are not miracle, but they do relieve alot. She cuts them up into 4 pieces and puts them where it hurts. They numb the area. Do not leave them around for pets or animals to possibly chew as the patch can kill little kids or animals if they chew or eat them.
Our insurance does cover them with a $25 co-pay. Without insurance they are something like $125 for a box of 20.
Sorry for your mother's pain. My wife is 55 so she has a lot of time for things to capture worse unfortunately.
My 89yo mother-in-law has very little to no misery.
