My father is seeing double and have problems next to his match and he have MRI's & Spinal tap done no results?

took him to th e doctor and they did a MRI, spinal tap, blood work, and a lot more test. The doctor does not know what it is or what have caused this. they have him on a portable IV with some antibotics. There have to be someone to ask or talk to that this similar thing has happen to. he is 56 years old and can't walk by himself because of the seeing double and the lack of balace. ANY IDEA ?

Answers:    There are numerous cause for diplopia and imbalance. Those that could kill someone are usually detectable with an MRI, and you stated that your father have an MRI. This would most likely have found any brain tumor or stroke large plenty to be detected with a MRI scan. Other causes include alcohol or other chemical intoxication, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, giant cell arteritis, other forms of cerebral ischemic disease (those diseases that motive insufficient blood supply to part or all of the brain), cataracts, and injuries. This may not be a complete inventory of possible causes.

The job of the emergency department is to identify those problems that require inpatient treatment and to prevent death or disability insofar as it may be possible to do so. So if there's something going on that could snuff out a patient, it's their job to find it.

If your father were my long-suffering, I would refer him to a neurologist or neuroophthalmologist for further evaluation.
Hopefully they have done or will do a MRI of his head.
