My husband have a spinal fusion L5/S1 5 months ago..?
Before the surgery he suffered from severe pain in his legs. We initially saw a pain guidance doctor. His condition seemed to get worse during this treatment. My husband took Cymbalta, Zyprexa, Levorphinal (morhphine), Lyrica, Ultrim (sp). all at equal time. Final after he lost 30 pounds and had atrophy (sp) in both legs, we took it upon ourselves to see a Neurosurgeon. He had a spinal fusion contained by September. He is still having severe pain, mostly in his right leg. From what I hold read on the internet, it sounds like the S1 nerve is still healing or possibly damaged. He is on crutches and cannot walk without them. He does not enjoy good balance. Does anybody have alike problems? Any suggestions.

Your husband needs to keep a daily log of his undertakings and pain. After two or three weeks, he needs to take it to the doctor for review. Then the doctor will own an idea where to look for the source of the pain.
