Think of it this way, him being a quadraplegic won't exterminate him, but his heart not pumping will. I'm a paramedic and when somebody codes, thats the number one priority by far. A lot of times though we will have them on a spine board already or try to get them too one and apply a cervical collar because it helps beside intubation anyways.
