Question roughly psyche exam prior to spinal stimulator for chronic wager on misery?

I have decided to try a spinal stimulator for back headache. I've been in pain for ten years. I purely spoke with my neurosurgeon, and he told me that there is a psychological evaluation done by a psychiatrist as part of determining whether or not this treatment would be beneficial and cost powerful. I am nervous about this evaluation as I am bipolar and have PTSD. Would this rule me out as a runner for this procedure? Does anyone out there have a spinal stimulator, and can you please share your experience? Thanks in credit.

Answers:    I think what they are looking for is whether or not your pain may be a psychological problem- as in, "made-up". Also, some patients hold too high of expectations, or may even be seeking to further/continue drug use/abuse. As a patient, you also need to be mentally aware of the stimulator- how to control it, what it should and shouldn't be doing, and be capable of make and keep appointments for its maintenance. This procedure is definately beneficial to most general public who have the implant- I wish you well.
