Soldier next to Spinal injury...I involve the truth!?
I was injured in Iraq the in 2003...since I own went thru lots of treatment.I had phisical theropy, electric some-thing, chropractor, Spinal injections, root sleeve and have see a neuro surgeon, had 3 MRI's.the MRI's say
1. T5-6, T6-7, T8-9, are herniated
it says.the worst is T8/9 it is the greatest...it say the protrusion effacesthe thecal sac anteriorly and abuts the thoracic cord.
2. L4-5, and L5-S have broad based disc bulge beside no significant canal or foraminal stenosis apperciated on either...
I have tried to tough this entity out...but at first it was alot of pain with some down my vanished leg.and after alot of injections I even deployed back to Iraq for a second tour...
Now I have been sense lots of pain in my chest.like a heart attack.
I am asking for some level advice...
This injury hurts all day every daylight...now you add my chest...hip and leg hurts...
I just don't know what they are gonna supply me for benifits...and I just had my 1st baby
Answers: Hey at hand,
I don't know how much I can tell you but I had 2 herniated discs - 1 C5/6, 1 T8/9. The thoracic herniation is much worse and causes me a large amount of pain - this will never go away apparently. I had it operate on in 06 - costotransversectomy, discectomy, laminecomy and nerve root decompression. I still have pains that wrap around my chest and discern not unlike a heart attack. This is from the damage to the T8 right spinal nerve - there isn't anything (at this stage) they can do to fix it due to risk of detrimental my spinal cord.
You need to pay some specialists to do some reports for you - detailing your pain, how it affects your vivacity, you injuries, your possible future treatment and why you should be on benefits - get as many reports as you can afford from pious neurosurgeons and then fight for your rights. Damage to your thoracic is very singular so try to find a specialist in your area. Don't stop fighting, you'll entail the benefits, trust me. Also, stop doing anything that causes you pain (if you can) so that they can't use this against you. Good luck, it's a long road.
