Spinal Cervical Stenosis?

I've just recently been diagnosed beside "Cervical Spinal Stenosis". I know that I've been in awful pain. Can anyone complex on this or give me any information as I've not yet seen an Orthopedic Surgeon..my appointment isn't until subsequent week. I'm currently on pain pills, have been for weeks and they aren't even really working capably anymore. How bad can this get? Has anyone had surgery for this that they can explain this surrounded by more depth to me? What about treatments other than surgery. Any information that anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated as this is something that I've never hear of before. I've googled it and gotten the facts, but would like to hear some true life stories if at all possible. I'm only 57 and it's estimated that I've had this for several years and been unbecomingly diagnosed. God bless You and Thank you ahead of time.

Answers:    Unfortunately, I do not know much of the subject; besides, searching for more about it online. I am merely writing in support of you as I know how terrifying surgery can be at times. However, you needn't worry too much as it is a fairly common procedure and you should be confident within that respect. Please forgive me for my ignorance of the subject; however, I did not wish you to worry.
