Spinal cord stimulators, ?

looking for patient comments, has anyone had this done? I am getting set to have this procedure done and was wanting to see if anyone has done this and can impart their comments on if its been good or bad??

Answers:    I have a SCS implant in 05 for migraines. Worked like a dream. I be HA free for 2 months with the trial and then the actual implant. Unfortunately I get the flu 1 wk after implant and the lead, which was threaded up astern my ear, migrated and coiled up in my neck and I had to hold a revision done to replace the lead and that procedure resulted in an infection that caused me to own to have the whole thing removed. Curiously, they must enjoy damaged the nerve carrying the pain urge on removal because my HAs dropped from 75-80% of the time to 15-20% so I didn't have it replaced after the infection was gone.

I recommend it not only because of my personal experience but also because of my professional experience. I am a nurse and own seen it work "miracles" according to some of my patients. I have seen it relieve anguish to the extent that one patient was able to go and get off of the pain medications she have been on for over 10 years.

That said, please talk with your doctor and the rep for the insert and make sure that this is something that you want to do/try and that you are completely confident in your decision and own all of your questions and concerns addressed. As beside all surgeries (minor or major) there are always possible problems and you are putting a foreign protest into your body.
