SPINAL cordage..support!?
what r good ways to improve posture with out only just standing up striaght,or physical therapist excersises (been there done that).
I suposedly had scoliosis at 13 but i go to a specail place and they x-rayed my whole body and i was fine. The curvature is soooooooooo small its like nought.
Now i am 21 and ppl keep telling me to stand up straight and this and that! I can't help but hunch .
My hindmost has been hurting a lot lately and i don't know wat to do. Its close to if i can't stand up straight on my own..at 13 i thought i would get a brace but i didn't need one according to the doctor. I feel similar to i may need one now.
My back other hurt in the lower area, now its high up and my spine is like verrryyy slightly tan colored, like an imprint. But doc, wager on in the day, said it was average and that my back only hurt cuz i was skinny and not much meat.
I am still skinny to this year, but i can't stand striaght on my own for long , cuz then i forget... . I also feel depressed or down,
Answers: ...there is really no substitute for simply practicing upright posture. No amount of physical therapy or chiropractic care can change the certainty that you slouch. It is simply a behavior, and therefore, requires behavioral modification.
Don't feel discouraged that people preserve telling you to stand up straight...it's a normal human tendancy to start to relax the posture after a while. However, when it is done for prolonged periods, it can head to more serious consequences which DO require PT or chiropractic care.
The color of your skin on your spine should not have any medical consequences on your spine unless you have a butterfly shaped birthmark somewhere along the spine.
Your doc is right that slight scoliosis is nought to worry about. There is absolutely no evidence within the scientific literature that mild and even moderate scoliosis have any effect on pain.
You are correct that depression can end in physical symptoms. Our neurotransmitters that are involved in regulation of mood also affect our sensation and perception of pain.
Some behavioral changes you may want to formulate about your posture specifically could include setting a watch to beep every 30 minutes...at respectively interval, you should check your posture until it becomes comfortable and habitual. You can also practice repeating going from a slouch to an overcorrected posture 10 times several times a day.
There are different strategies to back you change your behavior...but like I said there is categorically NO treatment for posture other than practicing or giving yourself external cues. Even bracing will not restrict you into good posture (but can be used as a tacticle cue for you to correct it).
Best of luck...you can do it!
You may have a form of spine curvature call kyphosis which is when your spine toward the top of your back curves forward a lot more than it should.
Talk to your family doctor. If he/she believes that to be the valise, get a referral to a scoliosis specialist. If your back is normal, PT may be prescribed. But, start things out by seeing the line doc, giving him/her long-term specifics (as long back as you can remember having the problem).
I used to have a constant hunch, and because of that, constant backache and migraines. I went to a chiropractor and started a routine almost 2 years ago, I go about every two weeks very soon, and after the first month of chiropractic treatment I get MAYBE one migraine a month and my migraines were everyday before that. Also my d¨Ścolletage was totally out of whack, at a very distorted curve than what it should have be. But 2 years later I still go there and I own had a lot of success beside more of my health problems than just my back, but I would strongly suggest going to a chiropractor. Go to a chiropractor.
