Spinal Fluid leak out wound within subsidise? How serious is this? What will this do to her body?
Answers: How do you know that it's spinal fluid (CSF)? Did she recently have a procedure (epidural, lumbar puncture[spinal tap])? Did she sustain an injury? It's very exceptional to have fluid literally leak out (even after a procedure) so unless you're sure, I'd assume it's not spinal fluid. When CSF is extracted, it's done in a clinical environment and the forgiving is monitored prior to release. The puncture site should seal relatively quickly; however, the patient should hold back from activity for 24 hours after procedure. If she has a very discouraging headache (especially when standing), she may have lost some fluid. I'd contact the physician who performed the procedure, keep her lay flat (remove pillow) and, providing that the doctor approves, she can have high doses of caffeine to help near the headache. In rare cases, a physician will need to perform a "blood patch," which unsophisticatedly seals the hole. If there is a "wound" on her back that you are assuming is leak spinal fluid, it would have to be VERY deep and if it was CSF, she would be amazingly sick. If it is not a deep wound, and it is not showing any symptoms of infection (swelling, heat around injury, pus or fever), it could simply be fluid oozing from injury, which is a normal course of medicinal. Again, always check with your health charge professional if you are unsure.
