Spinal injury next to 6 or 7 damaged/slipped dics.?
I've gone through all the conservtive treatments except getting epidural injections. i actually did get one epidural injection, but the nouns was less than 48hours.
It's been more than a year since the twist of fate that caused my injuries and the numbness has increased.
pain meds facilitate me feel good but hardly do anything for the agony. I've actually taken more than the prescribe amount on occassion.
Does anyone with knowledge in the region of the topic know what can be done.
Surgery on this many dics is dangerous and i don't know...
If i leave it alone will it achieve worse?
Answers: I would not recommend surgery, I got a 2 level fusion and ended up worse than since. I didn't think it could get worse but it did. I have have too many injections to count, caudals and nerve blocks, cortisone and steroids. They are all pretty much interim. Your best bet, I think, is to go to a good twinge clinic. There is pain medications that will keep you at an even height of relief. Fentynal or Methadone worked the best for me. Being as active as possible without putting yourself surrounded by unbearable or disruptive pain. If you can do it physical therapy. I own ended with complications which I've been told one and only get worse, but you have a good opening to get better. Since the body will normally heal from injuries. Nerves purloin a long time to heal. Surgery should be the last resort, there are like mad of risks doing that. Doctors don't keep records of there nouns and failure rates.
yes with that many disks injured they will find worse if you do nothing. instead of pain meds ask for blockers. different clas of drug but they work. As far as surgery they would only work on a couple at a time, tolerate you heal, rehab, then go spinal column in. probably in 2-3 operations.
Try alternative medicine, acupuncture, massage, hypnosis, or other meditative relief. never know they might work.
i've hear of a clinic in germany that specializes on the spine and there is an injection that they can put to "cure" you. it's not a pain nouns, but an actual solution to your problem. sorry i don't have any other info, but if you do some investigating around you might find the place. Have you tried glucosamine & chondriton ? It may help by 'regrowing' the joints and furnish some relief.
