Hi. I have spinal stenosis. i was 14 when i found out and now i'm 16. Lately my legs grasp numb and my back hurts at school. right now my stern is having ache pain. What do you do to relieve the dull pain other then advil?

Answers:    I have spinal stenosis also and a few months ago I started having the pains and numbness within my legs. My doctor did Epidural steroid injections and they helped alot. They do them in a series of 3 one per week for three weeks. The first one I had done did craft my back very sore for a few days but it was resourcefully worth it in the long run. I also take vicoden but be very scant taking it as it can become very addicting only take it when you really stipulation it. I also take flexeril which is a muscle relaxer. You should talk to you Dr about ESI (epidural injections) Just don't tolerate anyone talk you into have back surgery you are method to young for that and the results usually are not good. My Dr told me not to have fund surgery unless it is a very last resort. Good Luck.
I have have spinal stenosis and degenerative disk diease for years. I usually do stretches and then stand in the shower for a while with the hot wet running down my back. If the advil is not working, you may want to get hold of your doctor to see if in attendance is anything more he can do. Good luck and God Bless. My dad and i also suffer from this. He is 73 and i am 46. he just sent me a article about it and it says you should try torment medicine if severe enough, hot showers and if it gets to the point you can not lug the pain anymore, there is a surgery you can do for it. Good luck
