Spinal Tap?
Ummm...so I'm having a spinal tap tomorrow and I know that ur not suppose to eat/drink anything 3 hrs before it. But what I'm wondering is what will it touch like during and after the spinal tap. So if someone could answer that then I will obtain some sleep tonight! Woo! Anyways, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
I've seen it done to peopel but I didn't have any, yet! you won't have a feeling anything during because the doctor will inject local anasthesia...they will ask you to sleep/lay down because you may get slight headach afterwards.
Hope things turn well tomorrow:)
i had a spinal hit about 4 years ago.
it doesnt hurt as bad as i thought it would (i was 15 years ripened then and im terrified of needles so yeah, i didnt sleep much the night previously either! :)
the doctor makes you curl up in fetal position on your side and give you a numbing shot first. Then he tells you you take a deep breath and afterwards does it. You have to MAKE SURE YOU DONT MOVE AND YOUR VERY STILL, thats really important. try not to focus on what he is doing just give attention to about something else in your head
After the spinal stroke, i remember is feeling Very Very sore in my lower back for in the order of 3-6 days. That is honestly the worst part, the soreness. It feels like you did starchy labor, lifting cars or something lol. but it goes away, just make sure you pinch some sort of pain meds, it helps
well i hope i help you out, and get some rest, you'll be just fine! :)
Most spinal taps can be completed inwardly 5-10 minutes. A numbing medication is injected first into your skin and then into the deeper tissues of your lower back to numb the area completely. This injection cause some minor discomfort, which is usually brief and may cause a burning sensation. If you feel any pain during the spinal hit inform your doctor immediatly and they will ease your pain. Your puncture site may be sore for 1-2 days but it shouldn't limit you from doing typical activites. Good luck with your procedure it isn't that bad!
