Spinal slap at 39?

My cousin is in the hospital and the doctors can't figure out what's wrong with her. One item they did say, though, was that her spinal tap be at 39 which they were saying is high. I don't know what a spinal slap is and what it means. Can anyone help me?
A spinal tap is a procedure perform when a doctor needs to look at the cerebrospinal fluid (also known as spinal fluid). Spinal tap is also referred to as a lumbar puncture, or LP.
Some of the reason your doctor may want to do a spinal tap include the following:
To look for infection
To check to see if there is bleeding around the brain (subarachnoid hemorrhage)
To look for causes of unexplained seizure
To look for causes of headaches
