Spinal Tumor? Damaged Nervous System?
Sometimes i get a tingling sensation on my left thigh. It sometimes happen when i stand too long, sometimes it happen when i sit too long and sometimes if happens when i sleep. It is differnt all the times but it usaually happens during those times... i researche on the internet, they siad it could be spinal tumor or something beside my nervous system.. is it true?
Answers: Spinal tumor. . .no. Of course I couldn't tell you for sure without an MRI, so you should probably see your inherited doc and he or she should order one.
Damaged nervous system. . . maybe. That's a broad field of things though. If you're feeling tingling sensations randomly, it's most likely due to complications next to the nerve that provides sensory to that particular part of the body. What's cause that nerve to have problems is anyone's guess, but it's usually due from a compressed disk in your hindmost, pinching on that particular nerve. Remember that the nerves that come off the lower spinal column (your lower back) travel to your leg and adjectives the way down to your feet.
Like I mentioned before, if you see your doc, they should instruct the proper tests to find out what's causing the tingling sensations. An MRI of the spine is a good place to start.
