What is the process of a spinal hit?
What's it like, what the the procedures, what's it feel like? Maybe describe your experience, or if you're a doctor, report to me how it's done? thanks!
I have done it to many society
I have also had it done to me.
Lie on your side, curl up so your back is out and your knees are up towards your chest.
Clean on the spine beside antiseptic
Numb the area with some lidocaine (that is a pain numbing pills...the pain numbing medicine burns and stings, and it is actually the worst division of the procedure)
Press a needle in the very center between the bony bumps of the lower spine.
Go contained by until you feel a slight "pop" which is the needle going through into the fluid sac around the spine. (patient doesnt feel the pop, you perceive it with your fingers)
Remove the central metal filler from the hollow needle, clear fluid should drip out.
Measure fluid pressure, run fluid samples (drips into tube)
Pull out the needle

Mine was done for a spinal anaesthesia, where on earth they leave the needle in and they endow with medication for delivery of a baby or for c section. By the time I get it, I was soooooo thankful for that spinal you have no view.
I've never had it done to me but have participated surrounded by a couple of procedures. You lie on your side and get into a fetal position, this spreads out your vertebrae making it easier to insert the needle. They do insert the nozzle between 2 vertebrae in your lower spine, you must remain motionless, and hopefully they hit it just right and the CSF starts to drain out. At this point they measure the CSF pressure and consequently usually drain off several samples to run tests on. They afterwards place a band-aide over the insertion site and you have to lay on your back for several hours. Sometimes, a really bad headache can develop afterwards. Good luck on yours, it isn't the most pleasant experience but it isn't the worst any.
